Parking:

Generally AccessibleAccessible parking is available in several locations throughout the park. Not all locations have access aisles. The main building (the Meeting House) parking has access aisles but the route of travel leads through the roadway to access curb cut.

Rest Room:

Fully AccessibleAccessible rest rooms are available in the Meeting House and in The Barn, as well as at the rear of the park near a picnic pavilion. The bathrooms are fully accessible with the exception of heavy doors without enough clearance on the pull side of the door when exiting. Knee space under the sink is sufficient but since it is enclosed, it may be a problem for some people.

Outbuildings:

Fully Accessible3 Picnic Pavilions; The Barn, the Meeting House, and the Gazebo are all located in the Park Square; there is also an accessible playground located opposite the Park Square

Picnic Area:

Fully Accessible5 Picnic areas- 3 pavilions, inside the Barn, and the Gazebo. Accessible tables are in each pavilion and The Barn. All surfaces are either paved or concrete. The pavilion located at the far end of the park has an adjacent accessible rest room. All features are generally accessible except the toilet paper is mounted out of reach and the paper towel dispensers are high.

Description:

The Crossings of Colonie is a newly built, very accessible family recreation facility with extensive multi-use paved trails. It also has 2 accessible main buildings and an accessible gazebo located off the Park Square near the pond’s edge. The Meeting House has automatic doors, meeting rooms, an accessible kitchen and rest rooms. The Barn has rest rooms, lockers, drinking fountains, vending machines and an indoor picnic area. There is an accessible playground opposite the Park Square. Future plans include a new family recreation center which will include an aquatic complex featuring a zero depth swimming pool, 150 ft. water slide, and 4 lane lap pool; sports and fitness facilities including cardio and weight training equipment, community meeting rooms and child care center.
