Parking:

Fully AccessibleAccessible metered parking on Broadway with curb cut and three additional spots in a parking lot behind the building. Route of travel is generally level with one gradual slope curb cut leading to a level sidewalk and entry area. Accessible parking is also available in the public parking garage next to the building with level sidewalks to building entrance.

Entrance:

Fully AccessibleAccessible by 8% (1:12) sloped ramp to front door. Historic door was heavy (10lb pull wgt) at time of survey, but will be adjusted

Interior:

Fully AccessibleAll areas accessible with sloping ramps with handrails. Nice design of museum displays with wide paths of travel and some tactile exhibits. Most displays are low enough to view from a seated position. Planetarium has spaces for at least three wheelchairs.

Rest Room:

Fully AccessibleOne fully accessible rest room and two others are spacious with Universal Design features but no grab bars

Description:

The Visitor’s Center has brochures and information about places of interest in the region. It also offers an orientation show and exhibits that explore the history of Albany, the Gift Shop and the Henry Hudson Planetarium. Tours and special events are scheduled throughout the year
